Duffy's Trip to San Francisco - Part 25 - Walt and Family - June 13, 2015

"Whoa! So many family photos!"

"Walt and Lilly Disney at Mount Rainier!"

"Fashionable and practical."

"Lilly and Sunnee.  (This is the same dog that inspired Lady's hatbox introduction in Lady and the Tramp!)"

"They all dressed so sharp, didn't they?"

"OH! Old animation drawings from Plane Crazy! Have you ever seen that cartoon short? It is very funny!"

"Ink and paint! They didn't really let women be animators so they had to do ink and paint....but the colors are pretty, aren't they?"

"Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?"

"Old-timey scrapbook!"

Carthay Circle!

"I want to edit a movie!"

"It would also be nice to be an animator! But I don't know if I'd be any good at it. I think it's hard to draw without thumbs, but Gelatoni does well..."

"Whoa!"

Duffy's Trip to San Francisco - Part 24 - Walt and Hollywoodland - June 13, 2015

"We're in the next room of the Walt Disney Family Museum!"

"Let's go to Hollywood!"

"Lights! Camera! Um...how do I work the camera...?"

"It's not eavesdropping to listen in if you are at a museum....right?"

Duffy's Trip to San Francisco - Part 23 - To the Walt Disney Family Museum - June 13, 2015

"Oh boy! We are almost there!!"

"Also, there's water. Hi!"

"We're here! We're here!"

"We are waiting."

"And waiting."

Awww! This was inside. I don't know if it was because it was between Memorial Day and 4th of July?

"Two tickets, please."

The museum is split up into several rooms, which gives it a bit more of an intimate feel (but hinders progressing back into previous rooms...though you can go around and go through again if you need to).

Yes, Walt Disney drove an ambulance (not this ambulance) in World War I (after lying about his age; oh dear).

"Mr. Disney was naughty, but I guess it worked out all right."

Duffy's Trip to San Francisco - Part 22 - To the Presidio - June 13, 2015

Oh no! Today is the day we leave San Francisco!

Goodbye to our lovely room!

We are walking...

...down Lombard Street...

...and walking...

"Oh! The Palace of Fine Arts!"

To....the Presidio!

"That was a bit of a long walk."

This dome should be familiar to anyone who visited Disney California Adventure back in the day. They built it for the "Golden Dreams" show and repurposed it in Ariel's Undersea Adventure.

"Whoa! Philo T. Farnsworth!'

"I'll bet that is where Professor Farnsworth on Futurama got his name!"

"WHOOOA. Yoda it is!"
"I was trying to mime his motion...not sure it worked very well...I don't have a staff.  :( "

These old military buildings were utilitarian yet pretty.
